The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine offers a fully accredited four-year residency program in combined anatomic pathology and clinical pathology. The ACGME approved residency program qualifies the residents to sit for the American Board of Pathology examination in Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology by the end of their 4-year training program. The program is designed for the training of academic or community hospital-based pathologists. It recognizes the need for a graded increase in resident responsibility over the course of training and has the flexibility to meet individual needs and special interests. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of opportunities in the Department for clinical or basic research. In addition to service activities, residents actively participate in the education of medical students.
