First year (Temple)

6 months on orthopaedic surgery service (3 months seeing daytime consults and 3 months in various subspecialty clinics) and 6 months off-service (general surgery trauma, surgical ICU, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, emergency medicine, anesthesia).

Second year (Temple)

3 months of sports medicine, 3 months of trauma, 3 months of hand/upper extremity, 3 months of adult reconstruction.

Third year (Temple, Jeanes, Fox Chase, St. Chris, Shriner’s)

6 months of pediatrics (3 months at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and 3 months at Shriner’s Hospital for Children), 3 months of oncology/foot and ankle, and 3 months at Jeanes Hospital (Hand/Sports).

Fourth Year (Temple, Abington)

6 months at Abington Hospital (Spine, Joints, Sports, Foot and Ankle, Trauma), 3 months of Spine, and 3 months of sports/shoulder/elbow.

Fifth Year (Temple)

3 months of sports medicine, 3 months of trauma, 3 months of hand/upper extremity, 3 months of adult reconstruction.

Conferences/Didactics

Lectures are held daily each morning prior to the OR and are given by PGY-4 residents, PGY-5 residents, and attendings.
