Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University does not conduct “stress” interviews. The interviewers will make every attempt to put you at ease to give you the opportunity to express the “real you.” LKSOM seeks candidates:

• who have strong interpersonal skills
• who have the ability to listen and take another’s point of view
• who possess self-confidence
• who are compassionate
• who are socially conscious

Postbaccalaureate interviews will be held from January through May. Candidates participate in three interviews over Zoom. A primary interview with a physician or PhD faculty member who is on the Admissions Committee, a secondary interview with a faculty member who is blinded to the application materials, and a third interview with a member of the local community. 

The interview day also includes a virtual campus tour and an information session with current medical students where the applicant will be able to learn more about student life.

After the interview, applicants are notified of the Admissions Committee’s decisions by email on a rolling basis. Some candidates may be placed on the continuing candidate list after the interview and will still be considered throughout the remainder of the admissions cycle. Each application cycle is unique; the number of students taken off the continuing candidate list varies from year to year.

Postbaccalaureate interview serves as conditional acceptance to the MD program

The by-invitation-only interview for the ACMS postbaccalaureate program also serves as a candidate’s interview for their conditional acceptance to the MD program.

All offers of admission to the ACMS program include a conditional acceptance to the LKSOM MD program. The requirements that ACMS students must meet to gain full acceptance to the MD program are detailed in the offer of acceptance to the Postbaccalaureate program.
