Research

  • There are ample opportunities for trainees to partake in interdisciplinary and interinstitutional research. Additionally, fellows have access to TriNetX, a global network of real-world healthcare data and powerful research tool. Fellows are strongly encouraged to participate in and submit their scholarly work as:

  • Abstract/poster submissions to annual meetings including the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) national conference, Pennsylvania Rheumatology Society conference, and Temple Research Symposium
  • Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement projects
  • Publication in nationally and internationally recognized journals

Local and National Meetings

Our fellows have the opportunity to attend various Rheumatology meetings throughout their fellowship. Every year, one first-year and both second-year fellows attend the annual ACR conference and at least one first year fellow attends the ACR State-of-the Art Clinical Symposium (SOTA). All fellows are encouraged to attend the annual Pennsylvania Rheumatism Society meeting and quarterly Philadelphia Rheumatism Society meetings.

Other meetings attended by our fellows in the recent past have included: European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR), Association of Women in Rheumatology, National Psoriasis Foundation, ACR Advocates for Arthritis, Endocrine Fellow’s Foundation Metabolic Bone Disease Workshop, Coalition of State Rheumatology Organizations Fellow’s Conference, and New York University Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Course.
