Areas and Initiatives

CBE has five areas of focus:

  • Biostatistics
  • Clinical Research Informatics
  • Epidemiology (clinical, quantitative)
  • Community Health Research Resources
  • Education in Clinical Sciences

Our Biostatistics team provides advanced biostatistical and methodological support, for basic, clinical, and translational research to Temple Health faculty and trainees. The Clinical Research Informatics team helps identify eligible participants for studies and provides clinical data for research and quality improvement projects.

Our Epidemiology team aids in study design and consultations for grants and papers related to analysis of geospatial, social, behavioral, molecular, and multilevel data. Serving as a liaison between the community and our faculty and staff, the goal of the Community Health team is to develop and manage research resources related to community health needs that can be used for grants and student and faculty projects, including the Block by Block and AND OnE cohort studies. Lastly, the Education Team provides expert lectures and customized workshops as well as one-on-one coaching and mentoring on real-world pre-clinical or clinical applications to medical and/or PhD students, residents, and fellowship trainees on study designs, data collection and management, biostatistics, epidemiology, data science, bioinformatics, and data analyses and interpretations of research study results.
