Research leadership at Katz oversees the conduct of basic, translational, and clinical research performed by medical school faculty. Key roles include engagement in strategic planning for the research enterprise; organizing efficient usage of laboratory space; development and scientific oversight of core facilities; and acquisition of key technologies. The research leadership work directly with individual faculty members, Center Directors, and Department Chairs to help promote research synergies and proactively address problems. Katz Research Leaders coordinate with the Offices of Research Administration, Faculty Affairs, and Education, as well as with the leadership at OVPR, TUHS, the other Schools and Colleges at Temple University, and Fox Chase Cancer Center, to maximize efficient interactions across the Temple system.
