Didactics

Complementing the excellent clinical training our residents receive are regular daily conferences and didactic learning.  Wednesday mornings are dedicated to three-hours of didactic presentations that cover areas such as medical ethics, medical-legal issues, genetics, reproductive basic science topics, and OB/GYN Grand Rounds with invited speakers of local, regional and national renown.   Our department also requires that all faculty and residents enroll in Safe Zone: A LGBTQ Healthcare for Clinicians three-course series that discusses strategies for creating inclusive healthcare environments and delivering accessible care to LGBTQ patients.  Lastly, the OBGYN department believes that a critical part of resident training is educating them to understand the impact of societal and behavioral factors on the health outcomes of their underserved patients.  In order to formally address this issue a Health Equity lecture series was integrated into the resident curriculum.  The last hour of lectures is resident led and covers reviews of textbook chapters and board examination questions. The Temple OB/GYN/RS faculty can proudly boast that its remarkable educational program ranks among the best in the nation.
