On March 1, 2021, Dione J. Cash, MD, MPH, Professor of Clinical Pediatrics, will become Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Career Development at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM). In this new role, Dr.
Cash will be a crucial member of the Student Affairs team, working closely with the Office of Medical Education and Office of Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. The collaboration will enable her to provide academic support and career development counseling to medical students throughout their medical education program.

Daly, MD, FACS, Interim Dean and Emeritus Dean. “Her experience as a clerkship director for pediatrics, her clinical experience in pediatrics, and her experience as a professor position her very well for the role she’ll serve in guiding our students to become superb medical professionals.”
Dr. Cash’s core responsibilities encompass programming for students, including working with student interest groups and developing class-wide and student-specific activities to guide and support students through the career selection and preparation process. She will work closely with Medical Education Deans, Student Affairs staff, Doctoring College Directors, and Academic Advisors at LKSOM to implement programs that foster professional growth. Additionally, Dr. Cash will also serve as the student contact for navigating the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), National Residency Match Program (NRMP), and the Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program (SOAP).

An active member of the LKSOM faculty serving as a Clinical Pediatrics Professor since 2003 Dr. Cash received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati, OH, and her Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, MD. She completed a Pediatric Residency at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, MI, and a Fellowship in Community Pediatrics and Child Advocacy at Georgetown University Children’s Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Cash began her career as an attending physician at Georgetown University Children’s Medical Center before joining Temple Health. At Temple Health, Dr. Cash is the Section Chief for Community Pediatrics and an Attending Physician for Neonatology.
