The overarching goal of the Center for Biostatistics and Epidemiology is to serve as the academic home for clinical research and community engagement within the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. Within the department, core faculty provide scientific expertise in the areas of:
- Biostatistics
- Bioinformatics
- Epidemiology (clinical, quantitative)
- Community Health and Health Disparities
- Education in Clinical Sciences
Our mission is to provide research resources and expertise, to develop clinical research programs, and to nurture synergy and collaboration across multiple disciplines in order to support the diverse and underserved community surrounding Temple University and to center the training of the next generation of clinicians on health equity.
Scientific leadership and expertise related to study development, research methodologies, risk assessment, data management, biostatistical considerations, and safety, regulatory and ethical concerns represent substantive issues in the conduct of rigorous and successful clinical studies. The Center provides a group of experienced clinical investigators, research services and technical resources to expand the current clinical research capabilities at Lewis Katz School of Medicine in order to support an environment in which investigators can pursue safe, efficient, and cutting-edge clinical research.
