Temple University's Department of Emergency Medicine is staffed by 44 board-certified emergency medicine physicians and has 36 emergency medicine residents. Our department treats more than 175,000 patients annually in the Emergency Departments of Temple University Hospital, TUH – Episcopal Campus and TUH – Jeanes Campus. The Department of Emergency Medicine at Temple University Hospital is a tertiary care academic level-1 trauma center with nationally recognized specialty services.
Led by an internationally-recognized chair and outstanding program leadership and faculty, the physicians of the Department of Emergency Medicine are committed to quality patient care, innovative teaching, and academic excellence. The Department of Emergency Medicine supports the Lewis Katz School of Medicine William Maul Measey Institute for Clinical Simulation and Patient Safety, the Global Medicine programs, the Temple Transport Team, and the Pre-Clinical Doctoring program. Researchers within the Department of Emergency Medicine have been awarded multiple NIH grants for neurological critical care and emerging infectious disease. The Department of Emergency Medicine has recognized leaders and fellowships within the divisions of Emergency Medical Services and Ultrasound.
