  • Why FM?: I was drawn to Family Medicine for the lifelong relationships formed with patients and their families, being able to do in office procedures and seeing a little bit of everything.
  • Hobbies: Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my husband and golden retriever, Nala, trying different restaurants in the city, traveling any chance I get and reading novels.

  • Hometown: I was born and raised in Puerto Rico.
  • Hobbies: I enjoy watching cooking competitions (ex. Top Chef, Next level chef, Crime Scene Kitchen) and cooking with my husband. I also enjoy traveling whenever I can and learning about the culture of the locations I visit. I am looking forward to my second year as a resident and continue gaining knowledge and learning new skills.

  • Fun Fact: The year before matriculating to medical school, I had the honor of working as a STEM teacher who taught math, science, and computer science to 6th graders in SE Washington, DC.

  • I wanted to go to Temple for my residency training since I knew I would get amazing experience taking care of an underserved community. The residents and faculty here have also been instrumental in furthering my goal of being an FMOB.
  • Hobbies: In my free time I love spending time with my husband, our dog Louie, and my family in the Philly area. We love travelling and going to local food spots in the area.

Saba Mahmood, MD

  • Hometown: Philly suburbs (West Chester, PA)
  • Hobbies: I’m passionate about family medicine with a special interest in women’s health and obstetrics. When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll probably find me curled up on the couch with my fur-babies, enjoying some quality downtime. I’m also on a quest to find the best taco place in Philly—El Purepecha is currently one of my top picks.
