Dr. Jason Gallagher PharmD, FCCP, FIDP, FIDSA, BCPS
Jason is a Clinical Professor at Temple University School of Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Infectious Diseases at Temple University Hospital, where he maintains a clinical practice. He also is the Director of the PGY2 Residency in Infectious Diseases Pharmacy at Temple. Dr. Gallagher graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy from Rutgers University in 2001. He then completed residency programs in Pharmacy Practice at Virginia Commonwealth University – Medical College of Virginia Hospital and in Infectious Diseases in the Immunocompromised Host at Duke University Medical Center. He is a past President of the Society of Infectious Diseases, a past President of the Mid-Atlantic College of Clinical Pharmacy and former Chair of the ACCP Infectious Diseases Practice and Research Network. Dr. Gallagher serves on numerous committees for professional associations in infectious diseases and in pharmacy including the IDSA Guidelines on the Treatment and Management of patients with COVID-19 committee. He is a co-author of three editions of Antibiotics Simplified, co-editor of two editions of Frequently Prescribed Medications, and the author of over 150 publications, abstracts, and book chapters. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for Clinical Infectious Disease and the Editor-in-Chief for Contagion. His research interests focus on the treatment of patients with highly-resistant infections and maximizing the pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic profile of antimicrobials. In 2022, he was a recipient of Temple’s Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching.
David Koren, PharmD, MPH, BCPS, AAHIVP
Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Infectious Diseases/HIV
David is the lead outpatient Infectious Disease Pharmacist (specializing in HIV and Viral Hepatitis) and additionally coordinates the Antiretroviral Stewardship Program at TUH-Inc. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Temple University School of Pharmacy, and completed his post-graduate pharmacy residency training at Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic. David has been with Temple for 7 years and enjoys teaching the Infectious Disease fellows, working with them directly in the outpatient clinics. Outside of work, he enjoys trying the newest restaurants of Philadelphia, so feel free to ask him for a recommendation!
Jennifer Shif, PharmD
Jen is the PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Resident. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy at Temple University School of Pharmacy, and completed her PGY1 residency training at Pennsylvania Hospital. Her interests include MDR organisms, antimicrobial stewardship, and HIV.
Kazumi Morita, PharmD, BCPS
Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Infectious Diseases - TUH-main campus
Kazumi is the lead pharmacist for the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at TUH-Inc. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kentucky, and completed her infectious diseases pharmacy residency training there as well. Time flies when you get to work with the awesome Temple ID group, she has been in this role for the past 15 years. She strives to develop tools and resources to help optimize antimicrobial use across the health system. Her current interest area is in dose optimization of beta-lactam antibiotics utilizing therapeutic drug monitoring, and she started a pilot program at the hospital. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my two school-age boys.
